Tooth whitening materials will not whiten fillings, crowns or porcelain veneers. If you have veneers or crowns, you will want to consider this when deciding if tooth whitening is right for you. Your natural teeth could be restored to a bright white, while the veneers or crowns remain a darker color, leading to an undesirable result.

Dr. Jamie Sands and Dr. Jason Sands may discourage whitening if you have sensitive teeth, periodontal disease, worn enamel, or are pregnant or breast-feeding.
